Breastfeeding Classes
Breastfeeding is natural and normal but not yet the cultural norm. You may have questions and concerns about breastfeeding. How can I tell if my baby is getting enough milk? How can I prevent or cure sore nipples? How often and long should my baby breastfeed? What is normal for a breastfeeding baby? When should I seek help?
Options for breastfeeding education:
- Go to your local La Leche League series meeting. Its free and its relaxed and informal. Real moms, real babies, sharing the challenges and joys of breastfeeding. Find your local group at www.lalecheleague.org
- Come to a free breastfeeding class at Babies R Us. We teach the breastfeeding class at the Nashville Babies R Us on Nolensville Road every other month. Check with the baby registry desk or our events calendar for more information.
- Call me for a private breastfeeding class. A private prenatal breastfeeding class (spouse can come too) is available for $60. Contact us for more information.
- Breastfeeding Basics –Our breastfeeding basics class covers what you need to know to successfully survive the first 6 weeks of breastfeeding and beyond. Topics include how milk is made, milk supply, hunger cues, how to know your baby is getting enough milk, proper latch and positioning and how to deal with common challenges such as sore nipples.
